Havant Rotary’s Feed Havant Project
Feed Havant is a Havant Rotary Club Project set up to help the Food Banks with the excellent job they are doing to help people in a time of crisis.
Havant Rotary Club originally donated £3000 to support the Food Banks in Havant, Leigh Park, Emsworth, Waterlooville and Hayling Island.
Since then we have raised a further £3,800 through a series of collections at Tesco, Waitrose and Asda as well as 50% of the amount raised during our charity quiz.
In addition to the money we have been really pleased and thankful for the donations of over 1700 food items which we have distributed to the food banks.
The food banks do an amazing job and we are pleased to be able to support them in a small way.
Our aims are:
- Increase the awareness of the service that The Food Banks can provide if you need help, and how to reach them.
- To increase food donations to all our food banks.
- Raise money both from ourselves, the general public and local businesses for the Food Banks, to enable them to be able to purchase food when donations are low.
- To attempt to persuade the supermarkets to keep food donations local.
