Christmas Activities

Christmas represents one of havant Rotary’s busiest periods of the year.

Our Christmas sleigh with Santa on board, tours the local area, bringing the magic of Christmas to many families. Many of them, tell us that the arrival of Santa’s sleigh has become an important part of their Christmas.

This year we were ably supported by a number of volunteers who did a great job. Without their help the sleigh activities would have been drastically reduced.

I think that we all agree that while it is nice to raise some money, the pleasure that the sleigh brings each year to families young and old, is probably more important to us all.

Every year we provide the sleigh (and driver) to convey Santa to his grotto at the quay through Emsworth’s town square for the turning on of the Christmas lights. Havant Rotarians are out in force to marshal the event. In addittion this year father christmas arrived on our sleigh to turn on the christmas lights in Havant.

We also carried out a collection in the foyer at Tesco in Havant.

During Christmas 2024, we raised just over £9,100, which will be used throughout the year to support the charities and projects that we work with.
