Havant Rotary

Christmas Activities

Christmas represents one of our busiest periods of the year.

Our Christmas sleigh with Santa on board.  tours the local area, bringing the magic of Christmas to many families. Many of them, tell us that the arrival of Santa’s sleigh has become an important part of their Christmas.

This year was particularly cold and our team of collectors certainly battled the elements, however, I think that we all agree that while it is nice to raise some money, the pleasure that the sleigh brings each year is probably more important to us all.

Every year we provide the sleigh (and driver) to convey Santa to his grotto at the quay through Emsworth’s town square for the turning on of the Christmas lights. Havant Rotarians are out in force to marshal the event.

We also carried out a collection in the foyer at Tesco in Havant.

During Christmas 2022, we raised £10,000, which will be used throughout the year to support the charities and projects that we work with.

Christmas Sleigh

We were so grateful during our Christmas activities to have the support of a wonderful group of volunteers. Our volunteers helped with driving the sleigh and the door to door collections. If you would like to help us  during Chrismas 23 have a look at our volunteer page.
