Easter Egg Project
Easter Egg Project 2023 raises over £8000 for local charities
Havant Rotary donated 54 large Easter Eggs to local charities in order that they could raffle them to raise money. Some of the eggs were donated directly to the charities and some were donated to Pubs and restaurants etc in order that they could raise money for their chosen charities.
The scheme was a great success, with a total of £8085 being raised for the charities.
The largest amount raised was by The Heron pub who accumulated £698 in a raffle with their funds being donated to Macmillan. The Crown in Emsworth raised £408 in aid of Paedeatric Intesnsive Care Unit – St Marys Hospital.
Love your Neighbour Food Bank raised £357, Hannahs Holiday Homes £347, Seacourt Tennis Club £332, which was divided between 3 charities. The White Hart raised £285 for Rowans Hospice. Hayling Boxing Club £243.
Congratulations to everyone involved. We all know that charities have struggled due to Covid, and the cost of living crisis and these funds will be particularly helpful.
The Easter Egg project also was a lot of fun and gave them the opportunity to engage with customers and donors.
A number of venues donated the funds that they raised to Havant Rotary and we were able to purchase two ShelterBoxes with them.
The Easter Egg project will be back next year.
